Roma, 24 maggio 2021 – L’Italia è sopra la media europea per numero di persone vaccinate contro il Covid, e se si guarda alla percentuale di quelle che hanno completato l’iter è seconda nel continente solo alla Spagna. Lo affermano i dati del sito Our World In Data dell’Università di Oxford, che ha appena pubblicato il proprio dataset sulla rivista Nature Human Behaviour. Secondo i dati del sito, aggiornati al 22 maggio, in Europa il 13,1% della popolazione ha completato il ciclo, mentre in Italia sono il 15,75% e in Spagna il 16,8%, con Francia (14,2%) e Germania (13,1%) a seguire. Se si guarda invece alle persone che hanno ricevuto almeno una dose è la Germania che guida la ‘classifica’ europea, con il 39,1%, mentre l’Italia ha il 33,5%, preceduta anche da Belgio e Spagna, e l’Europa è al 28%. “Il nostro dataset utilizza dati da fonti ufficiali di tutto il mondo – sottolineano i ricercatori nell’articolo su Nature – ed è usato largamente da giornalisti, policy makers, ricercatori e dal pubblico. L’Oms lo ha utilizzato per sottolineare le disuguaglianze nell’accesso globale ai vaccini”. A livello planetario i grafici mostrano le grandi differenze nel tasso di vaccinazioni già sottolineate dall’Oms, con Israele, Gran Bretagna e Usa che sono molto più avanti degli altri paesi occidentali, e con Brasile e India, che sono tra i più colpiti dalla pandemia, che invece arrancano con rispettivamente il 18% e il 10% della popolazione che ha avuto almeno una dose, e molti paesi africani che non ne hanno somministrata neppure una.
