Covid: emergenze pazienti, al via tavolo su oncologia, oncoematologia e cardiologia

Roma, 19 giugno 2020 – È stato istituito, su proposta di Fondazione Insieme contro il Cancro, il Tavolo Tecnico del Ministero formato da oncologi, ematologi e cardiologi, per gestire le criticità occorse nei pazienti affetti da queste tre patologie durante l’emergenza della pandemia Covid-19. Fanno parte del Tavolo Tecnico le società scientifiche di riferimento, Fondazione Insieme contro il Cancro con AIOM (Associazione Italiana di Oncologia Medica), SIE (Società Italiana di Ematologia) e Fondazione Italiana Cuore e Circolazione Onlus con SIC (Società Italiana di Cardiologia), nelle persone dei Presidenti che, nelle scorse settimane, hanno stilato la “Proposta di gestione dei pazienti in Oncoematologia, Oncologia e Cardiologia nella fase 2 dell’infezione da Covid-19”. Il documento è stato inviato e accolto dal Ministro della Salute, Roberto Speranza.
Nel documento, nel capitolo relativo alla gestione dei pazienti oncologici, è evidenziato che cittadini con tumori e malattie del cuore (circa 11 milioni di italiani) sono fragili e rischiano di vedere compromesse le opportunità di cura a causa del Covid-19. Questi pazienti infatti sono andati incontro a sospensioni di terapie o cancellazioni di interventi chirurgici, visite di controllo e altri gravi inconvenienti su cui bisogna al più presto intervenire. Le problematiche sono ben illustrate nell’introduzione al capitolo dei pazienti oncologici. Per questo, come sottolineato nel documento, è essenziale stilare quanto prima linee guida e protocolli di trattamento per queste categorie di pazienti, uniformi sul territorio nazionale, anche per evitare disparità regionali. La decisione di istituire il Tavolo Tecnico è scaturita dopo una riunione delle società scientifiche di riferimento con il prof. Franco Locatelli, Presidente del Consiglio Superiore di Sanità e membro del Comitato tecnico scientifico della Protezione Civile. Il Tavolo tecnico nasce, quindi, per uniformare i percorsi di assistenza, identificando linee guida e protocolli attraverso il coinvolgimento delle società scientifiche. I componenti del Tavolo Tecnico sono il prof. Francesco Cognetti (Presidente Fondazione Insieme contro il Cancro e coordinatore del Tavolo Tecnico stesso), il prof. Franco Locatelli, il prof. Giordano Beretta (Presidente Nazionale AIOM), il prof. Paolo Corradini (Presidente SIE), il prof. Ciro Indolfi (Presidente SIC) e il prof. Francesco Romeo (Presidente Fondazione Italiana Cuore e Circolazione Onlus). Il prof. Massimo Galli (Divisione di Malattie Infettive Ospedale Sacco, Università di Milano), il prof. Sergio Abrignani (Istituto Nazionale di Genetica Medica, Università di Milano) e la dott.ssa Chiara Oltolini (Divisione di Malattie Infettive Ospedale San Raffaele, Milano) hanno anche collaborato alla stesura del Documento.
